Senior development engineer for Professor Luhmann’s research group specializing in the design and precision manufacture of millimeter wave components and assemblies, with a focus on the development of the Kern Pyramid Nano and DMG Mori NN1000 nano precision CNC machining centers for the production of high frequency vacuum electronic circuits. Laboratory safety and precision manufacturing programs for the DMRC.
Research and Development Engineer for Professor Luhmann’s research group. Work focuses on cathode research and development and aiding in the design and manufacturing of ultra-high vacuum tube devices.
Direct research activities in support of Prof. Luhmann’s millimeter-wave and FIR plasma diagnostic programs. Provide technical support for his other experimental research into advanced millimeter-wave technology.
Dr. Proietti manages research and grant acquisition activities in support of Prof. S.J.Ben Yoo Next Generation Networking Systems laboratory (http://sierra.ece.ucdavis.edu/Home). Dr. Proietti main research areas include (a) optical switching technologies and architectures for supercomputing and data centers, (b) high-spectrum-efficiency coherent transmission systems, and (c) cognitive elastic optical networking for core, metro and access optical networks. Dr. Proietti covers also the role of lab manager for Prof. Yoo laboratories in 2230, 131, 125 and 121.
