ECE Graduate Student Kazim Gurkan Polat received the Best Pitch Delivery Competition Award at the NSF AIR-TT Meeting

ECE graduate student Kazim Gurkan Polat, in Professor M. Saif Islam’s group, received the Best Pitch Delivery Competition Award at the NSF 2016 Accelerated Innovation Research – Technology Transformation (AIR-TT) Grantee Meeting in Atlanta, GA held June 6-8, 2016. Polat’s pitch, titled: “Atomically sharp ceramic and semiconductor blades,” focused on the “fabrication of rust-free blades integrated with multi-dimensional cutting-edges, sensors and micro-fluidic channels enabled by highly matured, inexpensive microfabrication techniques.”

Barry Johnson, Division Director, NSF Division of Industrial Innovation & Partnerships, and Barbara Kenny, PFI:AIR Program Director, National Science Foundation, presented him the award.
