I was born in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, in the northwestern region of China. I was fascinated with the history of Xi’an and monuments of human achievements which made me believe that even the hardest reaching goals are attainable as long as you are willing to dedicate your life to achieving them, and do not hesitate to acquire the necessary skills and tools, and do not mind taking the baby steps towards these goals.
At a result of my outstanding scores in high school, at the age of 18, I was admitted to Xidian University with an exemption of entrance exams via a waver of the National Colleague Entrance Exam in 1998.
In 2002, I was fortunate to be admitted to the graduate school of Electrionic Engineering department of Tsinghua University with again, a waver of entrance exams.
I joined in Ph.D program in Electrical
& Computer Engineering department in University
of California, Davis in 2005 and studied under supervision
of Professor Dipak
Ghosal and Biswanath
Mukherjee. I received my M.S. and Ph.D degrees
in 2007 and 2010, respectively. I am currently a senior
member of technical staff at AT&T
Labs, where I am responsible for traffic analysis and
optimization for AT&T's 3G, Lightspeed, and DSL Internet
Services networks. My research interests include traffic
analysis for network security and efficient multimedia communications.
