2008 ECE Professor of the Year Award
As most of you may be aware of, every year IEEE elects one professor to receive this prestigious award. We ask that you nominate ONE professor who excels in student mentoring and enhances your undergraduate experience here in UC Davis. Email your nomination to ucdavisieee@gmail.com by May 13th! and make sure you come to our general meeting on May 14th to vote for your professor!

2008-2009 IEEE at UC Davis Officers
Looking to enhance your undergraduate experience? Or are you just looking to buff up that already extraordinary resume of yours? Active involvement in student organizations really makes your resume stand out from the rest! Below, you will find the list of officer positions we are currently seeking, along with the name and e-mail of the current officers, and the responsibilities that each position entails. Feel free to contact the current officers for more questions. E-mail ucdavisieee@gmail.com with the position that you are interested in by May 13th! and make sure you come to our general meeting on May 14th to introduce yourself! You must be present on the May 14th meeting to become an officer!

• Treasurer | Current Officer: Josephine Sabado (jcsabado@ucd...)
  Ordering all items required including: food for meetings, workshop items, etc.
  Working with the ECE department's business staff members to maintain IEEE at UC Davis money account.
  Keeping track of purchases and reimbursements.
  Reporting on the amount of available funds during officer meetings.

• Secretary | Current Officer: Jimmy Liang (jimliang@ucd...)
  Attending all officer meetings and take minutes. Email minutes to the officer mailing list by the next night and keep a copy in Smartsite.
  Taking notes at informative general meetings for posting onto the website.
  Assisting the rest of the officers in brainstorming, planning, and implementing activities.
  Picking up mail from SPAC box #238, and the ECE department mail box.

• Publicity | Current Officer: Michael DeMesa (mldemesa@ucd...)
  Creating fliers for big meetings.
  Posting poster on Kemper lobby 3-4 days before meeting.
  Emailing notification about meetings 4 days before meetings, and a reminder 1 day before meetings.

• EJC Representatives (2) | Current Officer: Swapnil Jain (sjain@ucd...)
  Attending EJC meetings and events, and report back on them.
  Forwarding any required information from EJC to officers.
  Representing IEEE at UC Davis during EJC meetings and events.
  Coordinating with ICC or any other on-campus group when hosting an event with IEEE at UC Davis.
  

• Industry Liaisons (2) | Interim Officer: Kenny Marina (kbmarina@ucd...)
  Acting as the link between industry professionals and IEEE members.
  Contacting technical companies for funds, donations and guidance.
  Maintaining close contact with our industry sponsors.
  Keeping industry sponsors updated on current IEEE events.

• Micromouse Coordinator | Current Officer: Samuel Cho (sscho@ucd...)
  Organizing the Micromouse Competition during Picnic Day.
  Serving as a liaison between the officers and the Micromouse class students and instructor.
  Working with the Industry Liaison to find funding for the event.
  Maintaining and updating the IEEE at UCD Micromouse webpage.

• Outreach Coordinator | Current Officer: Parveen Atwal (pkatwal@ucd...)
  Scheduling visitations with the local schools.
  Recruiting committee members and deciding on projects.
  Organizing the quarterly Soldering Workshop.

• Webmaster | Current Officer: Allen Tang (altang@ucd...)
  Maintaining the UCD IEEE webpage with current announcements and information about events and activities.
  Chronicling and recording the UCD IEEE events through photography and written descriptions.
  Archiving recorded media on the UCD IEEE webpage.
  Providing an online voice and presence and for the UCD IEEE.
