RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

Professor Ding currently focuses on research works to develop novel wireless digital communication system design and implementations for high speed broadband networks. One of the major emphasis involves the design and analysis of broadbandMIMO wireless transceiver optimization and  integration that transcend different network layers. His group has developed new methods for hybrid ARQ equalization and decoding. Another key aspect of his research tackles the design and implementation of cognitive radio networks in order to efficiently utilize unused spectral bands opportunistically.  Professor Ding is also applying his expertise in channel equalization and estimation in wireless LAN and WiMAX applications. Professor Ding also has significant research interest in signal and array processing, utilizing  tools such as wavelets, higher order statistics, cyclostationary statistics. One of his current focus is to develop efficient and robust means for radio source and senor localization.
