Professor Hsia's research focuses on the following areas: (1) robotics - advanced manipulator control, force sensing and multiple arm coordination, telerobotics, redundant arm kinematics and collision avoidance path planning, neural network applications, mobile robot navigation and control and medical robotics; and (2) adaptive systems - adaptive algorithms research for adaptive equalization and interference rejection, adaptive and robust control and system identification.
