  • Microwave and Millimeter wave diagnostics for magnetically confined fusion plasmas, including radiometry, reflectometry, and interferometry.
  • Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) phenomena and turbulence in fusion plasmas.
  • Plasma heating and current drive.
  • Development of millimeter wave and sub-THz frequency sources, amplifiers, mixers, etc.
  • Antennas, optics, and quasi-optical frequency filters.

Research Activities

Development of Electron Cyclotron Emission Imaging (ECEI) and Microwave Imaging Reflectometer (MIR) diagnostics and numerical data evaluation techniques for the study of MHD and microturbulence observed as temperature and density fluctuations in tokamak plasmas.
